Jerry chats with the Chicago vocal super group The Flat Five! (JBTV Podcast)

“We’re like a big snowball,” says the band about their rolling formation over the years. The five members of The Flat Five have all been playing music together for over 10 years, while also playing in other groups or projects. During their chat with Jerry, the band talks about some of those other collaborations, including their work with JBTV alums like Robbie Fulks and JD McPherson. Between revealing the back stories of each song that they played, the band also talks about their feel-good, family-oriented album recorded in drummer Alex Hall’s studio, which was written by Scott Ligon’s brother Chris Ligon. Tune in to find out which band member’s 11 year old also contributed to the album (and keep your eye out for this future rock star!) Topics also include songs about Florida, salty nuts, and residencies at the Chicago venue The Hideout…Don’t miss this entertaining episode with The Flat Five!
